Why to be our intern?

Supervision routine and constant feedback

The professional practice is supervised in the multiple cases in which our interns are involved. In this environment, the intern will perform critical analysis of the cases and will be required to constant pursuit legal solutions, preserving the interests of our clients with the relentless support of more experienced professionals. The feedback is provided at the end of each work, if necessary, in which the lawyers will indicate what is correct and what should be improved.

Formal training and thematic study groups

We believe the training and preparation are fundamental factors in professional development. The firm has an annual training schedule comprising several areas in which the members of the firm are encouraged to take part.

Trainings already conducted within our VBSO University comprised oratory courses, new Civil Procedures Code study group, Tax Law course, Banking Law and Accounting Notions course. Along with mentioned courses, each practice area holds monthly thematic meetings, in which our professionals discuss current cases of their respective areas and the impacts of new rules and precedents. Therefore, our professionals are always updated and are able to develop an excellent technical formation.

Attendance in internal and external meetings

We believe that the attendance in internal and external meetings is important, as the professional may be familiarized with the business dynamics of a law firm, in addition to having the possibility of getting closer to clients and be prepared to hold their own meetings in the future.

Individual mentoring

We believe that the support of an experienced professional is fundamental for the appropriate development of the career and for the professional growth of our interns.

Through an open channel with this professional, it will be possible to exchange experiences, question and raise concerns, which worked with an experienced professional, will guide the intern career and will optimize their development.

Coaching with partner

Monthly, our interns can meet with a partner who will convey essential knowledge for the formation of a lawyer. Discussions on what it is to be an intern, the value of study, the importance of team work and commitment that the intern should have with the firm are some of the themes introduced in the meetings.

Biannual evaluations, associated to a PDI – Individual Development Plan

Biannually, the intern will be evaluated by the legal body of the area of the firm in which they work, being introduced to their mentor, who will comment on their learning, their progress and points that may be developed.

The intern may also choose to have a PDI – Individual Development Plan, in which an objective plan will be elaborated in order to develop and improve their work and performance.

Promotion based on performance (Level 2 intern)

In biannual evaluations, the possible promotion of the intern will also be discussed, based on their merit and performance throughout the term.

Attendance in Committees

The intern may choose to attend the committees existing in the firm, which are: Selection Committee, Events Committee, Communication Committee, Training Committee and Development and People Committee. Therefore, it is possible to actively attend administrative issues of the firm.
